On July 5th, 2017, the “2017 Design Competition of Smart Bus Stop Sign in Shanghai Pudong” ended successfully. The event was co-organized by SITI with Shanghai Pudong New Area Transport Trade Association, Shanghai Pudong New Area Public Transportation Investment Development Co. , Ltd, Shanghai Pudong New Area Public Transportation Co. , Ltd, Shanghai Pudong New Area Urban Transportation Management Agency, and Shanghai Yuyi Culture Development Co. , Ltd.

Since the initiation of the event on April 1st of this year, it attracted attention from various circles of society and participants from all over the country. Totally 215 pieces of design was enrolled and 16 of them were selected by the organization committee for the final round.

According to the rules of the competition, through internet voting and expert panel judgment, Shanghai Quality and Standardization Institute won the “Gold Prize for Best Design”, Yimo Fangtang Co., Qijun Electronics, and Mr. Ma Lei won the “Silver Prize for Best Design”, and the other 12 companies/individuals won the third prize (including Ustand, future team of Guangzhou Baiyun College, Huang Runru, Jiao Jingchang, Linxin Vision, Shu Mingdao, Xu Weibin, Yu Huifang, Han Hui, Tian Qing, Wang Zhaohui, and Wang Danyang). To encourage participation from the public, 17 Golden Idea Prizes were given to Mr. Cai Jinyu and other public participants.

On the closing ceremony, Mr. Cai Xuesong, vice director of SITI’s Information and Communications Department, said that the innovation ideas of this competition would be beneficial to new product formation and its combination with the information releasing platform at SITI so that a better public transportation information releasing system could be constructed under the guidance of supervising management office. The future system could cover most of the public transportation stops and release real-time information of bus arrivals of all the passing lines, with new functions including multi-media video broadcasting, real-time monitoring, passenger feedback and public information release services.
