——2018 Global Forum for Innovation & Visit of Father of Innovation at Silicon Valley

On July 13, 2018, the 2018 Global Forum for Innovation “Rallying Innovations and Gathering Forces, Like Ocean Absorbing Forces from Rivers” as well as visit of Father of Innovation at Silicon Valley was successfully organized and accomplished. Co-sponsored by the Shanghai Employment Promotion Center, Shanghai Industrial Technology Institute and Yangpu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and co-organized by Carlson International Innovation Center, Public Space for Innovation @ SITI, Qiandong Innovation Space Management Co. Ltd, and China (Shanghai) Entrepreneur Public Training Base, it is the second event of “Rallying Innovations and Gathering Forces, Like Ocean Absorbing Forces from Rivers”, after the first one – Summit Forum for Yangtze Delta Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Modes, aiming to promote synergy innovation, attract technology talents, and construct technology innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere.

The forum includes seminar, keynote talks and interaction with audience, inviting masters of innovation from USA to explore together the source of global innovation, five disciplines for creating, innovation management as well as analysis of innovation cases domestic and international. The event attracted experts of technology and innovation, media, and entrepreneurs from different industries.

In the seminar, Mr. Qian Shi, vice president of SITI, Mr. Yonghua Yang, deputy director of the Shanghai Employment Promotion Center, Mr. Jingang Li, Party Secretary and Director of Yangpu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Ms. Xiawei Zhou, deputy director of Yangpu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Dr. Curtis Carlson, Honorary Chairman of Board, Global Alliance of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, founder and CEO of Practice of Innovation, and Prof. Oliver Yu, Chairman of Board, Global Alliance of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, President of the STARS Group, discussed how to promote global innovation and entrepreneurship with enhancement of atmosphere and how to development high added value innovations.

In the session of Keynote Talks, Dr. Curtis Carlson, Honorary Chairman of Board, Global Alliance of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, founder and CEO of Practice of Innovation, with 40 years’ experience of leading world-class innovation institutions, gave his talk on “Innovation Management and Education”. Prof. Oliver Yu, Chairman of Board, Global Alliance of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, President of the STARS Group, gave his talk on “Silicon Valley: History and Features – Innovation Management Methodology”.

In the afterwards interaction session, the audience posed such questions to the speakers as “what are the applications of block chain technology innovation”, “team building mode development tendency: how to balance speed, cost and core competence?” Some of the lucky participants got the signed copies of the book written by Dr. Curtis Carlson.

Lake and ocean never reject streams. The scientific and technological innovation in Shanghai is at a critical turning point. In the course of climbing the world's science and technology peak, it is necessary to continue to deepen the international scientific and technological cooperation. By gathering global technological innovation resources, strengthening international cooperation, and integrating into the global innovation network, Shanghai's innovation and entrepreneurship will be of more international style.
