Recently, the Engineering Center for Intelligent Transportation of SITI won the bidding of Shanghai Subway Maintenance Company Materials and Logistics Branch Company for its project of “Installation of GPS positioning system and dispatching monitoring management terminals in vehicles for emergency”.

Background:

The maintenance company needs its vehicles at multiple points in a very wide area. At present, its vehicles are deployed at 5 branches and its headquarter, and the management department is not able to obtain timely information of their positions and operation except the registered information of the drivers. There are blind points in the process of management and when emergency occurs, the company and its supervising company could not get real-time information of their positions so that the coordination and deployment could not be efficient.

Content of Project:

♢ Services: Installation of GPS terminals in 150 vehicles, monitoring platform, coordination room screen and host terminal

♢ Period: May 2nd 2017 – May 20th 2017

Significance:

After the installation of GPS positioning system on vehicles for emergency and the coordination and monitoring management terminal, the maintenance company will be able to check real-time information of the vehicles including their positions, driving status, history, etc. which could support the efficient coordination of the vehicles in emergency missions.

What’s worth to mention is that though the implementation period of the project was dramatically shortened due to force majeure factors, the Engineering Center for Intelligent Transportation of SITI overcame all the difficulties and implemented the project on time.
