SITI Technology and Application of Big Data Series—Industrial Big Data: Architecture and Application has been published officially. Basing on the comparison and analysis of existing architecture models at home and abroad, this book puts forward a general reference architecture, which can provide a general basis to solve the common challenges faced by different industries and also can realize the sharing of knowledge and experience in the ecosystem of different industries. The architecture uses reusable technologies and systems to build modules. Hoping to build a multi-industrial ecosystem based on the architecture so as to stimulate more technological innovation and reduce the cost and speed up the implementation of the industrial big data system, innovation team of Mega-data Application and Service Platform of SITI finally finished the book after a long time research and a lot of application practices.

This book is composed of 12 chapters, firstly it discusses the relationship between intelligent manufacturing and big data (chapter 1). Then, basing on analysis of model of German industrial RAMI4.0, reference model of U.S. industrial Internet IIRA, reference frame of Japanese industrial value chain IVRA and architecture of Chinese Manufacturing 2025, it proposes industrial big data architecture (chapter 2). The subsequent chapter 3 to chapter 11 elaborates from three dimensions of industrial big data. Third, fourth and fifth chapters respectively discuss applications of industrial big data in three aspects (research and development, production and service) under the dimension of product value chain. 6, 7 and 8, respectively, from the enterprise vertical dimension, discuss three subsystems of intelligent manufacturing: CPS information physical system, management information system, MIS and Internet+. Chapter 9, 10 and 11, respectively, from the IT value chain integration dimension (business architecture, information system architecture and technical architecture) discuss the industry overall architecture and data integration technology. Finally, it discusses industrial big data like safety and quality data management in chapter 12. The corresponding relationship between industrial big data and chapters of the book is shown in the figure below:

Main characteristics of Industrial Big Data: Architecture and Application : (1)It is based on mature theories and related foreign mature architecture. (2)CPS, industrial Internet, Internet+, mass customization, big data, industrial cloud, nowadays, there are too many such kinds of concepts. Under this situation, based on industrial big data reference architecture, the book combs a clear context for us. (3)The book uses a large number of architectural charts (more than 100). (4)Each chapter has a great number of cases (more than 50) supporting its core views.

This book is appropriate reading for related technical staff, business people and consultants. And it can also provide references for entrepreneurs, investors and staff working at government.
