A delegation of more than 60 students and faculty from Shanghai University of Science and Technology recently visited the 3D printing technology and service platform of Shanghai Industrial Technology Institute. This activity was co-organized by Shanghai Industrial Technology Institute, Shanghai Nanotechnology Association and School of Material Science and Engineering, Shanghai University of Science and Technology.

Equipped with a variety of 3D-printing equipment including printers with industrial plastic, nylon, wax, and metals, as well as various desktop 3D-printers, the 3D-printing Technology R&D and Service Platform provided the visitors an excellent experience of “rapid shaping technology” and a chance of have a direct access and understanding of 3D printing technology with zero distance.

SITI arranged technicians to accompany the visit and showed how to use the equipment and answered questions from the delegation. Many students commented that it was a very innovative processing method with features different from the tradition methods, and that the visit stimulated their innovation thought about 3D printing and hope to participate relevant projects in the future.
