Dahong Qian graduated from Zhejiang University with bachelor’s degree of Instrument and Meter Engineering in 1988, from University of Texas at Austin with master’s degree in 1991, from Harvard University with Ph.D in 2002. During 2003-2007, he was research fellow at Institute of Microelectronics, Tsinghua University. He has been working as professor at Institute of Translational Medicine, Zhejiang University, since 2013.

His working experience includes senior engineer at Dallas Semiconductor/Maxim during 1992-1994, Technology Manager at Analog Devices during 1994-1999, Vice President (Engineering) at iKena (acquired by Net2Phone) during 1999-2002, CEO of Accel Semiconductor (acquired by OmniVision) during 2004-2010 and Vice President (Engineering) at OmniVision Corp. during 2010-2013. In 2013, he founded InnoPhase Inc.

In recent years, Prof. Qian is mainly engaged in researches on novel medical materials and devices applied to:

1. Biosensors based on terahertz metamaterial for the detection of CTC;

2. Computer intelligent identification of medical image based on deep learning, such as early discrimination of benign and malignant pulmonary tuberculosis, retinal image distortion diagnosis, image intelligent recognition in endoscopes;

3. Body Area Network consists of micro ultra-low power detection device for human parameters.
