On March 2nd 2017, Deputy Vice Chancellor & Vice President, University of South Australia, Nigel Pelph visited SITI. Vice President Shi Qian, Deputy Chief Engineer Zong Yuwei, vice director of Green Energy Department Liu Wenbo, director of Air Purification Assessment and Testing Center Jiang Yaopeng, and other relevant staff of SITI, took part in the communication.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Engineer Zong Yuwei, vice director of Green Energy Department Liu Wenbo, Mr. Nigel Relph visited Air Purification Assessment and Testing Center located on the second floor and gave high appraisal towards the researches in air purification.

In the following meeting, vice president Shi Qian introduced generic technology platforms, development strategy and transfer of scientific and technological achievements, experience of collaboration with enterprises and the active role of SITI in propelling technology transfer. Mr. Shi expressed his wish to carry out international collaboration in the field of eler-care platform and medical translation. Deputy Chief Engineer Zong introduced the application of IT to smart city and gave some cases about intelligent pension and infrastructure systems. Mr. Liu said that green energy is an important way of sustainable development and at present it is a very hot topic how to solve the problem of air pollution.

Mr. Nigel also agreed with the development tendency of smart city and green energy. He said that University of South Australia and SITI were similar in many aspects. Both give strong supports towards SME’s with the concept of serving the society of industries. Both collaborate with well-known universities around the world to share technologies and establish joint laboratories.

In the end, Vice President Shi Qian and Deputy Vice Chancellor Nigel Relph reached an agreement on open innovation, strengthening international cooperation and jointly upgrading development mode. Mr. Nigel also announced that a delegation of Adelaide was going to come and visit SITI in May this year, which would be beneficial to strengthen the cooperation.
