On September 10th, the first “China-Korea (Shanghai) Innovation Policy Seminar” with theme of “Technology Operation New Trends: New Strategies and Models of Propelling Technology Transfer” was held successfully in SAST. President of SAST and SITI Mr. Niu Xiaoming, Vice Director of STEPI Mr. Lee Jungwon and legal representative of Mirae Holdings Mr. Kim Youngho attended the meeting and delivered speeches. On the seminar, Mr. Niu Xiaoming and Mr. Kim Youngho signed collaboration agreement on behalf of the two organizations. The seminar was chaired by vice president of SAST Mr. Cao Amin.

During his speech, Mr. Niu Xiaoming said that since the establishment of SAST-SITI-STEPI China-Korea Global Innovation Center, SAST, SITI and several universities and enterprises of Korea signed collaboration agreement and jointly did R&D of various innovation products in the fields of big data, robots, life and healthcare and obtained some achievements. He expressed his wish that the seminar could focus on “technology operation management and enterprise cultivation and development, so as to propel better the communication and collaborations in the soft science field.

Mr. Lee Jungwon and Mr. Kim Youngho expressed in their speeches that there was a good history of friendship between China and Korea, and their social and economic development structures are also similar. The “innovation economy” strongly promoted in Korea now has its core content of industrialization of research achievements. They hoped that through signing the collaboration agreement, they would establish better collaboration relationship with SAST and SITI and would carry out collaboration research and practical applications further orienting to how to effectively realize public technology achievements industrialization, how to transform industrial R&D to industrial power, etc.

On the seminar, Chinese experts including Prof. Zhang Yucheng, Economics and Management College, Tongji University, Mr. Yao Fugen, ex-vice director of Shanghai Science and Technology Start-up Center, Dr. Liu Xiaoling, vice director of Planning Research Department, SITI, gave reports of “Multi-element Competition and Core Proof in Emerging Technology Evolution”, “New Operation Model of Qishi Eco Industrial Cluster”, and “Study on Problems in Benefit Distribution of Technology Achievements Transfer”. Korean experts including senior researcher of STEPI Hong Sungbum, research fellow Sohn Soojeoung and legal representative of Mirae Holdings Kim Youngho, also expressed their views on “Technology Management New Trends and Focuses”, “Public Technology Industrialization Models and Focuses” and “Public Technology Industrialization Status Quo in Korea and China-Korea Collaboration Planning”. The experts from two countries also held discussions on the key points of the presentations and expressed their expectation and confidence in the future collaborations.

“China-Korea (Shanghai) Innovation Policy Seminar” was co-sponsored by SAST, SITI and STEPI as an academic exchange activity of SAST-SITI-STEPI Global Innovation Center, aiming to propel mutual understanding of the new tendencies in science and technology innovation through communication and joint researches, and to learn each other’s management experience in science and technology innovation and provide decision-making reference to relevant departments, playing a role of science and technology think-tank. “China-Korea (Shanghai) Innovation Policy Seminar” would be forged into an open platform bridging communication and collaborations in science and technology innovation between Shanghai and Korea.
