Born in 1962, Prof. Minbo Lan is member of CPPCC National Committee, professor at East China University of Science and Technology, and Chief Scientist of Shanghai Nanotechnology Promotion Center. He is also Associate Editor of Advanced Science Letter, and member of editing committee of Academic Journal at East China University of Science and Technology, China Sports Materials, and Nanoscience. He is entitled “Trans-century Outstanding Talent” by Ministry of Education in 2001. He is also director of Laboratory and Equipment Department, and director of Analysis and Testing Center, East China University of Science and Technology.

His research areas include various functional materials and bio-sensors. For many years, he has been engaged in molecular quantitative structure-activity relationship study in organic functional materials, designed and synthesized a number of new EPR oxygen bio-materials for medical sensors, and established in vivo online high sensitivity analysis method with oxygen free radicals. In recent years, the research field is extended to the screening and discovery of plant antioxidant. He has published more than 60 articles on domestic and international key journals such as Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, and holds 10 patents. He has undertaken a EU Sixth Framework Program (NACBO), projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China and the national problem-shooting projects. His scientific awards include 1 Second Prize and 3 Third Prizes of Provincial and Ministerial Level Scientific and Technological Progress Awards.
